Replacing lavalier microphone cables.

Replacing the miniature cable on many of the most popular lavalier microphones is a worthwhile procedure provided the microphone element is considered good. A useful option is to specify the replacement cable length which best meets your needs. The cost includes the cable cost and a new connector if required. We use a high quality soft matte black 2mm cable with Kevlar strands to increase strength.

Alkaline battery warning.

Following the summer season we see mixers, slates and microphones with leaking alkaline batteries. Alkaline batteries are always preferred for long term use and when you need the guarantee of power, however, we are finding more instances of good brand batteries leaking than ever before. So take care and remove batteries when storing equipment and if you do spot leakage place the equipment where it will dry out. Alkaline battery leaks will corrode most metal parts including contacts, switches and the pins and any circuitry affected. If you suspect leakage take the item to your nearest repair shop as soon as possible.
